Health and Wellness (Minor)

Develop a comprehensive approach to understanding health promotion and the well-being of the body, mind, and spirit.

Learn how to prevent illness and maintain wellness and health in a variety of capacities. Health & Wellness examines the mind-body connection and why psychological well-being is important to whole-person healthy living. In this minor, you will use the application of innovative, evidence-based behavioral strategies to foster wellness and serve the broader community.

Invitation Program

Gain hands-on experience by helping community members who are at risk of preventable illnesses, including type 2 diabetes. Invitation pairs trained Health Science and Psychology students with Grant County residents. The patients and students will meet one-on-one to discuss nutritional, lifestyle, and other types of wellness education. Patients can also elect to participate in personal training sessions through Taylor’s Fit Into Health program, where customized fitness routines help them get active. 

Matching a Health & Wellness Minor with a Major

At 21 credit hours, this minor is a good match with Health Sciences, Human Physiology & Preventative Medicine, Sport Management, Youth Ministries, and the pre-med curriculum (which can be added to any major).
